The general constitution of the legal structure of the Liechtenstein Fund Centre is adapted to the guidelines of the EU directive EEA/85/611 (OGAW directive) in its latest version. Wide parts of the legal basics in Liechtenstein are identical to the rules of the other EU or EEA member countries. Concretely this applies to most regulations with regard to organisation, sponsorship and management of a fund. Besides this European part there exists a national section which contains various Liechtenstein specific provisions.
